Walk 5: I walk in your name
For this walk, I knew immediately the person I wanted to ask. I chose my mom because of her brain and her beliefs, she's someone who believes whole heartedly, and is the fairest person I know. I showed her the assignment and it took her awhile to give me an answer on what she would want to walk for. My mom is a strong woman of God, and cares about the safety of other, and how their lives are affected. She decided that her "walk" would happen in the middle of downtown Gilbert on a Saturday afternoon because it is the busiest time of day. This walk would be a walk defending the faith of others. She believes whether you believe in something or not, you should be able to practice it freely and without judgement. Of course she will always try to spread the gospel, but she knows that there is a way we can all coexist. When she had given me her answer, I was not shocked one bit, this seemed exactly like what she would want to walk for. She also mentioned it would be the most peaceful walk you could imagine, no yelling or rioting, just peace.
Hi! I find it very interesting and beautiful that your mom is so considerate of others. I think it's always important to highlight that when it comes to faith, people don't need to believe in the same thing to be able to be kind to one another. I would love to know more about your own personal experience from this walk through your documentation. Adding your own personal thoughts and maybe even pictures from the walk would go along nicely!
ReplyDeleteThat's really kind to have chosen your mom for this project. Was there any particular reason you had chosen to walk in that area? And would you agree with your mom about it being one of the most peaceful walks you had?
ReplyDeleteThis piece beautifully honors your mother’s values and vision. The emphasis on peaceful coexistence and spiritual conviction brings a powerful calm to the concept of protest, offering a moving, personal perspective.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see your perspective of this walk if you had done it, in comparison with your Mom. Overall, this is a really beautiful concept it would be awesome to hear more about the experience and your feelings as well.
