Social Territory

This past week I spent 5 days in a large, evangelistic conference that was hosted by my church. This was a social territory that I was used to, but not one I tend to enjoy because of the large amounts of people. I'm extremely comfortable in my faith and my church, but there was over 2,000 people there, and I barely knew half of them. This really made it so I had to go outside of my bubble and meet others who believe the same things I do. I decided to show how I viewed it through my camera lens. I mapped where the photos were on the map of the church.

  1. Hi! I really love the candid feeling to these photos. I think it highlights that even if you may not know these people, you all are there because you share a common interest, and everyone is simply enjoying themselves. I think that it would be nice to add in a writing element in which you talk about how your experience was after the event was over. Did you start to gradually feel more comfortable in the environment? Was it easy or hard to talk to new people? Overall, this is a well done post and I love the photos you included!

  2. Hi Caitlin! I really enjoyed seeing how you used the conference for your church as a means for a walk. I find it very interesting. I do understand how overwhelming it might of been to be around so many people during then though and how it could be challenging to find time to take pictures and be there in the moment and really look around since you have to not only focus on what your church is doing but being surrounded by lots and lots of people. I do think that to make it easier to know where the pictures were taken, maybe number them or something. Just an idea!
